If you are distance learning student then 1st of all you need to get a job in you field. Don't care about the salary. You should get this job if the employer provides you at minimum salary.
Learn all minor and major things of that field and use in your study also.
Create friend circle at the office/organization as well as with clients. They can help you getting a good job after you have full knowledge.
Create Profile on social/professional networking websites and add people related to your fields and ask them about their experience and future plans.
Create something remarkable things at your job. Add this in your resume.
